Reason to practise the right religion

Do you practice religion?

Looking around, one can find lots of people who love to hold on traditions and like to worship several things, gods, goddesses, or God.

I could well be just on my own. Considering I am born and one day I’ll die. My life coming to an end … and then? Would this be it?

Do I just have to suffer so much, and at the end of the line should be thankful that I have lived in this world where there is so much cruelty and unrighteousness going on?

Having had a period where the only thing I could do was lie flat on a hospital bed, being cleaned and fed by others, I had lots of time to think about life. Was it perhaps by clinging onto life, there was enough reason to “cry out” to the heavens:

“Why?”?

Looking for answers, reading lots of books and watching many documentaries at all possible hours of day and night, trying to conquer the pains, bit by bit answers came into my searching head.

The majority of the world might just think of themselves and not be bothered by the rest of the world. I wondered about people who were worse off than me, and about the animals who had to live in a nature where mankind did so much damage.

True, there are lots of people who do not want to know about any religious practice. But by some of them, you might find the look for some surrogate of practice, be it mindfulness, yoga or some intensive sports program. Some may tell you they detest religion but have built in so many traditions in their life, that in a way they too are having a sort of ‘religious’ or ‘sacred’ life.

The Hare Krishna movement and Buddhism could be intriguing, but I became convinced there was more to life than I could see at first sight.

Being paralysed, with my body, my spirit started getting more and more free. I must say, after some years, I could liberate my mind from my imprisoned body.

With the years passing, I came convinced that there is that Divine Creator, so many people do not want to know of. No matter how much people tried to tell me it is absurd to believe in God, and ridiculous to worship an unseen being, I became more and more convinced of the good reason to believe in Only One God, Who is the Divine Creator of heaven and earth, and the reason why to worship only Him.

As religion may be a very personal issue, I did find my way in the world of thinking minds and got to embrace my faith in that only One True God, Who is One. I hope I still have many years to go, to deepen my faith and to continue my practice of the Christian religion I adhere. Using the time I’m given, I will continue to explore my personal journey of practising my faith in Christ and his God, discussing its importance, the rituals I engage in, and the impact it has on various aspects of my life.

Even when I may not do much, or do not seem to succeed in much, I still cherish hope that I will still be able to convince other people to switch to the same faith in which I hope to grow further. I do hope I shall be able to prove to others that my religious practice has sense. They should come to see and believe that faith in Christ and his God may offer solace, a sense of purpose, and a connection to a Higher Power.

Even when very limited, I may say my religious practice brings me comfort and spiritual fulfilment, moral guidance, and a sense of belonging to a global community of believers, brothers and sisters in Christ. Feeling that unity, I might also find myself less lonely, though where I live I am an unknown (nearly unseen) person.
