What are you most excited about for the future?

Every day I read some chapter from the Book of books, the Bible. It is my most treasured guide through the day and night. For me, that Word of God is something one can not take away from me. Even when I had to flee in a rush, I made sure that my preferred book would accompany me on my trip to uncertainty.

In the past, there have been several ‘sons of men’, who trusted and honoured the Almighty God. Some of them, like Daniel and many neviim got dreams and visions about times to come.

““He came near to where I was standing, and as he approached I was terrified and fell on my face. But he said to me, ‘Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end.’”
(Daniel 8:17 TLV)

For many people, those visions described in the Book of books are not always clear. They should make us think about the days we are living in and of days coming in front of us. Many chapters in the Bible shed light of what man may come to expect in the latter days. For many, it is a very uncertain future, but for those who read the Scriptures regularly, it is quite obvious what is happening and what we might expect.

However, we should not overgallop and should be aware that the Bible also speaks of a longer period. It will not be something of one, two, three but spread over several years. The “time of the end” of which the Bible speaks, covers a period of many years. Those of a generation, and it can come into effect only when the Gentile times expire and when the kingdom of the Messiah is ready to take over the rulership of the earth.

For centuries man had the opportunity to find out a way to govern and manage the world properly. A lot of systems of government have come up for review, but none has been able to prove itself as a good system for all. No human form of government has succeeded in building an ideal world. To this end, we will have to wait for the return of the promised son of God, who will be king of Christ’s kingdom or the Kingdom of God here on earth, because in the end Jesus will hand over all power to his heavenly Father.

A time was set in which to bring about the complete end of the great nations now ruling on earth. We do know about Gog or the King of the North going southwards. Possibly that move can be seen in the invasion of Ukraine by Putin. We are told about different signs to be noticed. Man will have to undergo distressing events of the day. There is going to be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.

“For then there will be great trouble, such as has not happened since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. And unless those days were cut short, no one would be delivered. But for the sake of the chosen, those days will be cut short.”
(Matthew 24:21–22 TLV)

The big problem for us is that the time for this period is fixed but as yet Jehovah has not revealed the actual day or year of its end to his faithful people, but He knows. We know that there will be many more natural disasters and that the behaviour of people shall be worse and the interest in God and the future as in the days of Noah. About the attitude of people in those days we know that children would go against their parents. But also around relationships it would be not so good. The lives of many would revolve around sex and themselves, full of egoism. Paul graphically describes such ones as

“having come to be past all moral sense”;

many would have given themselves over

“to loose conduct to work uncleanness of every sort with greediness.” (Ephesians 4:19)

When looking at the world today, we can notice how bad it is with morality. Pornography, premarital sex, sexual abuse of children, and homosexuality are commonplace in those days of self-love and egoism. Some are already receiving in themselves the full recompense in the form of sexually transmitted diseases, breakdown of family life, and other social ills.—Romans 1:26, 27.

“pagans do, stumbling around in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance in them due to the hardness of their heart. Since they are past feeling, they have turned themselves over to indecency for the practice of every kind of immorality, with greed for more.”

“For this reason God gave them up to shameful passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for what is against nature. Likewise the men abandoned natural relations with women and were burning with passion toward one another—men committing shameful acts with other men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
(Romans 1:26–27 TLV)

Mankind shall come to see a serious battle, worse than all the previous ones.

Previously there had been many systems, but once more new systems of things will be introduced, leading eventually to peace, joy, health and everlasting life. Jehovah shall be known to his people and His ‘praises sung from the rising of the sun to the going down thereof’. Deliverance in the fullest sense will be the blessed lot of those who worship and bless the God of Daniel. the Elohim Hashem Jehovah the God above all gods and Upper Judge of all the earth and heaven will bring to pass his good pleasure.

I can imagine God is not happy with our world today. I also can clearly see some parallel between the time of Noah and our day. Noah received the warning of the upcoming catastrophe decades in advance, and he wisely used the time to prepare for survival. Our generations also received warnings and were given the signs for the coming days. Instead of ignoring them, I preferred to look at those signs.

From my parents, I learned the necessity to follow God’s Will. We have come to live in a world where the world loves itself. Most people are just interested in themselves and in ageing lots of money. Money for many has become their god. I learned to go for the real values of life and that it is much better to do the will of God so that I shall receive in the end a much better life, remaining forever.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the boasting of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away along with its desire, but the one who does the will of God abides forever.”
(1 John 2:15–17 TLV)

I have learned from the inspired Scriptures that this system is doomed to destruction. I also believe what Jesus Christ clearly stated, there is coming a time of great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, or such a time that will occur again. (Matthew 24:21–22) Though many do not want to know the Words of the Almighty, Jehovah, God of heaven, has kept these warnings in front of His people by means of timely reminders through the spiritual food provided by “the faithful and discreet slave.”

““Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master put in charge of his household to give them food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whose master finds him so doing when he comes. Amen, I tell you, his master will put him in charge of all his possessions.”
(Matthew 24:45–47 TLV)

Living in this world, where I too, had to flee from the violence, I might have feared people and what the could do with their weapons, but I fear god more than them. It is to Him, I prefer to give glory because I am fully aware that the hour of the judgment by Him has arrived.

“And then I saw another angel flying high in the sky, having a timeless message of good news to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come. Worship the One who made heaven and earth and sea and springs of water.””
(Revelation 14:6–7 TLV)

I do not know if I would ever be able to return to my beloved motherland. It can well be that those steps Vladimir Putin is taking, are the steps of Gog, the King of the North going southwards, bringing all over the world fear and incredible violence, such a great tribulation that people shall have to come to see that Armageddon is at their doorstep.

Followers of the sent one from God, do know the importance of following the task Jesus gave to his followers. In these times when the system of age to come or system of things is luring at us, it is up to that Body of Christ to make sure that their fear is overcome and that they dare to go out into the world preaching the Kingdom message, warning people that God’s Kingdom will soon remove human rulership.

““Now in the days of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will this kingdom be left to another people. It will crush and bring to an end all of these kingdoms. But it will endure forever.”
(Daniel 2:44 TLV)

Even though I am a person on the run in this world, I do not carry such fear with me. For I believe in God His capacity as a protective Father, fulfilling His promises. In the past, there have been so many predictions of the future that have already come true, and I believe those that have not yet been fulfilled will soon be fulfilled.

Almighty God always keeps his word.

“For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without having watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to sow and bread to eat,
so My word will be that goes out from My mouth. It will not return to Me in vain, but will accomplish what I intend, and will succeed in what I sent it for.”
(Isaiah 55:10–11 TLV)

He did in Noah’s day, and He will in our day.

“First of all, understand that in the last days, scoffers will come scoffing, following after their own desires and saying,

“Where is this promise of His coming? Ever since the fathers died, everything goes on just as it has from the beginning of creation.”

For in holding to this idea, it escapes their notice that the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God. Through these, the world of that time was destroyed by being flooded with water. But by the same word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire — kept until the Day of Judgment and the destruction of ungodly people.”
(2 Peter 3:3–7 TLV)

Preceding
